Aquamarine
Aquamarine is a member of the beryl family of gemstones and the tradition birthstone for March its name is derived from the Latin “water of the sea”. Aquamarine in its natural untreated state has blue green colour, however today the purer blue colour is the preferred colour. This is achieved by gentle heating which removes the green hues leaving a permanent stable blue colour.
