Our Graduate Jeweller 2013

Product Information

In 2012, Trephina spent a little time with us for work experience and now, having graduated from Charles Sturt University with a Bachelor of Arts in Jewellery, we were pleased to welcome her to the team.

Trephina has joined our long time resident jeweller Louie, designing some unique custom pieces and repairing jewellery for our clients.

Trephina’s rings inspired by jellyfish

‘It is great to be able to offer people like Trephina a start in the industry, and she will add a fresh new approach to the design work we offer,’ said Tony.

Over the course of her study, Trephina was granted a number of awards for academic excellence, including the Australian Decorative and Fine Arts Society Prize.

Born in Canberra, she says it is nice to be back and she is really enjoying her work with the team at the Village Jewellers.

Trephina’s final work at university was a set of rings inspired by jellyfish. As the jellyfish move deeper into the ocean, they appear to change colour as the light filters through the water.

She used a mixture of aluminum, silver, titanium, set with CZ and Sapphires. ‘Blue with Sapphires’ was a finalist in the Contemporary Australian Silver and Metalwork Awards 2013 in Bendigo and another three of her pieces were finalists at the JMGA Biennial Conference.

We look forward to seeing Trephina excel at her craft. One day soon, we would like to be there to see her take out a prestigious jewellery award for something that she has designed for one of our lucky customers.
